MAINO MAKES “A MOVIE”

Hustle Hard Entertainment/Atlantic recording artist Maino has announced the world premiere of his latest video, “Let’s Make A Movie.”  The video – directed by Adam Donald & Shamikah Martinez – will debut on Cinemax this Saturday, November 21st at 9:55 pm, immediately prec ed ing the network’s Pay TV debut of the Notorious B.I.G. biopic, Notorious at 10pm.   “Let’s Make A Movie” will be featured on the DVD of Maino’s breakthrough debut album, “IF TOMORROW COMES…,” slated for release in early 2010.

KRS-ONE: HOME AGAIN FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Twenty years ago, hip hop artist/activist KRS-One wrote an inspiring op- ed in The New York Times “A Survival Curriculum for Inner City Kids,” in which he address ed the city’s failings to take care of its most ne ed y; in the article, he also mention ed how he’d spent many of his formative years in the 1970s in homeless shelters around the city and was essentially an auto-didact, who ed ucat ed himself in public libraries.

Fittingly, 20 years later, KRS-One will be aligning with one of his former shelters, The Bowery Mission, this Thanksgiving to serve meals to thousands of the City’s homeless.  And as a further testament to his self- ed ucation, KRS-One has just releas ed his second book, “Gospel of Hip Hop: First Instrument,” an 800-plus-page spiritual manual for citizens of Hip Hop Kulture. 

The Bowery Mission and KRS-One will serve meals to over 3,000 people at the Mission at 227 Bowery (between Prince and Rivington Streets) from 8 AM – 7PM on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2009.

I have officially lost track of time. One thing about being on tour is that every other day you find yourself in a different time zone, and keeping up is too difficult. So it’s currently 11:20 pm EST and that’s all I care about! Right now, I’m laid up in the back of the tour bus on the way to Austin , TX . My album (so far) is playing in the background. Mannn. That’s all I can say.

Performing in front of a pack ed arena with close to 20,000 people is … like having sex with the baddest chick, but bustin’ in one minute!

Shout out to everybody at Honey and everybody reading! They’ve been on my ass about writing a journal for ya’ll, so here we go. I’m just gonna jot whatever comes to mind as it comes. This reminds me of college. Damn, I miss school!

DEATH ROW RECORDS CEO LARA LAVI WINS TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST NEW SOLUTIONS FINANCIAL CORP IN ORDER TO PROTECT COMPANY ASSETS

November 19th, 2009, New York , NY – Deathrow Records CEO, President Lara Lavi has just been granted a temporary restraining order against the Canadian financial group, New Solutions Financial Corp and it’s CEO Ron Ovenden by the New York Supreme Court County of New York.  The court order will keep outside interests from attempting to act on behalf of the iconic hip-hop label, Deathrow Records, and help keep the company on the road to its continued success.
